Internship Hub

The Institute of Politics provides roughly 300 fully-funded internships each year across the country and around the world. Internships offer students opportunities to immerse themselves in meaningful, often life-changing work in various public service sectors.

Academic-year internship applications will open in Fall 2023.

Evanston, IL Summer 2023

FirstRepair was founded by Robin Rue Simmons, a former Evanston, Illinois alderman and the architect of the nation’s first government-funded reparations program. This internship has been sourced and developed in collaboration with Simmons, one of the IOP's winter/spring 2023 Fellows.


The Communication Digital Intern will assist with all stages of digital campaigns. Work on a wide variety of projects including web development, social media, search engine optimization, and email marketing campaigns. The CDI will provide the team with needed help when developing, expanding, and maintaining digital projects.

Office of U.S. Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi (D, IL-08) Congressional Intern

Washington, DC Summer Full Time

Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi represents the 8th District of Illinois in the U.S. House of Representatives. Interns in our Washington, DC office conduct legislative research, draft policy memos, and assist in a variety of office operations including constituent services. Interns also have opportunities to attend meetings, hearings, briefings, and other events on Capitol Hill.
